Sri Lanka's first Islamic bank: Amana Bank

Amãna Bank, Sri Lanka’s first licensed commercial bank to operate fully under the principles of Islamic banking, opened for business last week.

Amãna Bank will be offering a range of financial products and services including Current Accounts, Savings Accounts, Children’s Savings Account, Term Investment Accounts, Home Financing, SME Banking, Corporate Banking, Trade Services and Treasury Services.

Thats great and the concept is spreading. also non-Muslim's do agree that this is the best financial concept because its fair and both bare the loss. but the problem in maldives is, common people still doesnt understand the concept and its benefits. some times i hear people say whats the deference in Islamic bank and BML. Islamic bank also gives loan and bla bla. thats only a name of the bank and they also do the same. it really makes me laugh.
